Position Overview

Serving as a Cashier at Walmart Canada offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service abilities. This role involves delivering outstanding service to customers during the checkout process, helping to foster customer loyalty. The Cashier also plays a vital role in safeguarding company assets by vigilantly monitoring for loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming every customer in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Efficiently and promptly handling all sales transactions, including deactivating merchandise in accordance with the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
• Promoting Walmart's sponsored initiatives such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable programs.
• Helping customers with packing and loading purchased goods.
• Complying with safe working procedures, including proper lifting techniques and maintaining a tidy workspace.
• Securing the cash register by responsibly managing cash, adhering to company policies, and maintaining alertness to surroundings.
• Referring specific service or transactional questions to a Customer Service Manager as needed.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $15.50 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
