About Z Energy and the Role
Z Energy, a leading transport energy company in New Zealand and part of the Ampol group, is committed to providing safe and reliable energy solutions while advancing toward a low carbon future. The Energy Solutions team focuses on innovative technologies like EV charging and hydrogen to support the energy transition.
We are seeking a Pricing & Commercial Analyst to join our team in Wellington, a newly created role to enhance pricing execution, commercial modeling, and business performance analysis in our growing eMobility business.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing administration and governance related to pricing changes and applications.
- Ensuring accuracy of pricing changes through accounting and business systems by monitoring gross margin.
- Building and maintaining pricing and commercial models to aid strategic decision-making.
- Evaluating how pricing strategies impact profitability, margins, and customer demand.
- Handling large datasets to extract valuable insights and support commercial projects with financial analysis.
- Playing a part in shaping pricing strategies for various eMobility offerings including public charging networks and business solutions.
Candidate Profile
- Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial modeling.
- Ability to convert complex data into actionable commercial insights.
- Strong commercial awareness and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience dealing with large datasets and reliable modeling techniques.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in pricing, strategy, corporate finance, consulting, or related analytical roles.
- A curious and commercially minded individual excited by fast-changing environments within a growing sector.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary between $113,600 and $133,650 NZD per year plus a 15% short-term incentive based on performance.
