Role overview
As a Host at Flanigan’s, you’ll be the welcoming presence guests notice first and the friendly face they often see last. This role is focused on creating a positive first impression, guiding seating, handling guest questions, and helping ensure the front-of-house runs smoothly throughout the shift.
Guest experience
- Create a warm, upbeat welcome for every guest and maintain a courteous, polished appearance.
- Use the company’s signature “Smile Talk” when greeting guests, escorting them to tables, and saying goodbye.
- Help manage seating so guests are seated efficiently and the wait list stays organized.
- Respond to questions or concerns and relay issues to the manager on duty when needed.
Front-of-house upkeep
- Keep the foyer, host stand, and waiting area clean, tidy, and free of debris.
- Restock and clean menus as needed.
- Help maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.
- Answer phone calls promptly, within four rings, and assist callers or route them to the right team member.
Shift duties and physical requirements
- Handle opening, closing, shift-change tasks, and assigned side work.
- Be able to bend, stoop, and reach frequently during the shift.
- Lift items up to 50 lbs when required.
Compliance and work expectations
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program in line with company and state requirements.
- Must complete and pass the required food safety certification in accordance with company and Florida rules.
- Work schedule is a five-day work week.
