Role Summary

The Room Attendant plays a key part in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for hotel guests. The role focuses on keeping guest rooms and shared areas spotless, ensuring amenities are replenished, and supporting a comfortable stay while following all hygiene, safety, and hotel standards.

Key Duties

• Thoroughly clean and disinfect guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Prepare rooms by making beds, replacing linens, and refreshing towels and other amenities.
• Remove dust and shine furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors as required.
• Restock guest-room essentials, including toiletries, towels, and minibar supplies.
• Keep cleaning tools and materials organized, supplied, and in proper condition.
• Inform the supervisor about any damage, faulty equipment, or unsafe situations.
• Check that room appliances, lights, and electronics are working correctly.
• Interact with guests in a polite, helpful, and professional manner.
• Respond quickly to guest needs, questions, or complaints.
• Follow hotel rules related to security and the privacy of guest information.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred. Previous exposure to housekeeping or cleaning work is an advantage. The candidate should be able to work on their own with limited supervision, maintain a sharp eye for detail, and manage physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Clear communication and a positive, service-oriented attitude are also important.
