Role Overview
Join our team at the University of Waikato in Hamilton as a Digital HR Operations Administrator, playing a crucial role in modernizing and improving human resource processes through digital solutions and technology. This position is dedicated to enhancing the employee experience by leveraging Oracle Cloud HCM and emerging AI tools to boost process efficiency and self-service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within HR processes and systems.
- Support managers and employees in effectively utilizing HR self-service platforms.
- Assist with system upgrade tests, implementations, and drive user adoption of enhancements.
- Develop comprehensive user manuals, procedural documentation, and practical resources.
- Utilize data, analytics, and process insights to find and act on opportunities for streamlining operations.
- Contribute to a culture fostering innovation, operational excellence, and ongoing enhancement.
Candidate Profile
Ideal applicants are inquisitive problem-solvers with a keen interest in understanding and improving how systems and processes function. Candidates may come from backgrounds including HR administration, systems support, payroll, business operations, or customer service but must be technologically adept and eager to embrace learning new tools and techniques.
This role requires strong communication skills, an ability to build collaborative relationships across teams, and a practical approach that balances detail orientation with solution delivery. Candidates should be organized, flexible, and motivated to see initiatives through from conception to execution.
Essential Skills and Experience
- High digital literacy and comfort with enterprise software and business systems.
- Keen ability to identify challenges, propose improvements, and implement solutions.
- Confidence handling data, reporting, and information systems.
- Collaborative mindset with adaptability for working across diverse groups.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies, including AI-powered tools.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM or similar HRIS is a notable advantage but not mandatory.

Additional Information
- This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, based on-site at our Hamilton campus.
- Salary range is from $73,235 to $87,024 annually, contingent on skills and experience.
- Candidates must have legal permission to live and work in New Zealand.
