The NUS Centre for Future-Ready Graduates (CFG) is committed to empowering students through a comprehensive, student-centered approach. The centre supports students from undergraduate to postgraduate levels in recognizing their strengths, refining skills, and showcasing their value to employers. CFG has crafted a four-year strategic plan to enhance graduate employability by offering skill development programs and industry-oriented experiential learning opportunities. Role Overview

As a Career Advisor (Manager) at CFG, you will lead efforts in early career preparation, guiding students on how to communicate their unique strengths in an increasingly AI-influenced work environment. You will help students integrate AI competencies with critical human skills such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and strategic communication. Working closely with CFG and faculty teams, you will customize and deliver career and life skills programming, including unit-bearing courses, internships, and workshops tailored to students’ needs.

  • Offer individualized and group coaching on career planning, job searches, resumes, cover letters, and interview techniques.
  • Plan and conduct workshops on essential career skills including resume writing, interviewing, networking, workplace communication, and personal branding.
  • Facilitate internship and graduate briefings covering hiring trends, workplace expectations, and career shifts.
  • Design and implement experiential learning programs to strengthen students' career and workplace capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Industry Relations team to enhance employer partnerships, understand hiring trends in business and technology sectors, and connect students with opportunities.
  • Support faculty and CFG events such as Career Fest.
  • Lead student engagement initiatives promoting career services and digital platforms.
  • Assist in reporting, data analysis, and continuous service enhancement for assigned student groups.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accountancy, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related fields; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in industries such as Banking & Financial Services (including FinTech), Commodities, Energy & Renewables, Consulting, Consumer Goods, ICT, Logistics & Transportation, or Real Estate.
  • Solid knowledge of industry transformation, emerging job opportunities, hiring trends, and employer expectations.
  • Familiarity with recruitment methods including case interviews, assessment centres, technical interviews, coding tests, and internship conversion routes is beneficial.
  • Comfortable using AI technologies (e.g. generative AI platforms, AI-driven career technology, data visualization tools) in educational or professional contexts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with persuasive skills; experience leading career-focused workshops is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and management abilities; skilled in community building, relationship development, and networking.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and able to work both independently and collaboratively to manage change and meet objectives.
