Role Overview

The Assistant Designer will collaborate closely with Designers and Senior Designers to craft the ASOS DESIGN collections, focusing on delivering trend-led, commercially relevant ranges that resonate with an international customer base. Key Responsibilities

  • Research and conceptualize seasonal collections including identification of key shapes, colors, and fabrics to cater to global consumer preferences.
  • Adapt designs based on sales data to ensure commercial viability and trend relevance.
  • Monitor current and upcoming trends using diverse sources to create first-to-market products with distinctiveness.
  • Partner with technical teams during initial fittings to identify and resolve design challenges while contributing a strong creative viewpoint.
  • Maintain relations with suppliers and factories, advising on trends, construction details, materials, and trims.
  • Manage timelines effectively to meet critical development milestones and optimize product release periods.
  • Design unique products for both long lead-time projects and agile, short lead Test & React collections.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience designing within Womenswear and/or Footwear & Accessories sectors, demonstrating a strong fashion sensibility aligned with the ASOS customer.
  • Previous work with aspirational or high-street fashion brands, including collaboration with suppliers across the Far East, Europe, and the UK.
  • Experience supporting Buyers to construct balanced ranges and introduce market-leading styles.
  • Proven commercial awareness and understanding of the ASOS brand ethos.
  • Strong creative instincts, taste, and ideation capabilities; technical skills developed through team support.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software including Photoshop, Adobe Suite, CAD, Miro, and AI-based design tools.
