Key Responsibilities
- Provide precise and prompt cost estimates for planned medical procedures by analyzing patient insurance details, benefits, and past data.
- Verify insurance eligibility and coverage across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans to determine financial obligations.
- Prepare and submit prior authorizations accurately, considering insurance and medical data.
- Engage directly with patients to explain anticipated financial responsibilities and discuss payment or counseling options.
- Obtain and verify pre-certifications and authorizations with thorough documentation.
- Utilize multiple systems including practice management software to research patient inquiries accurately.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance during all patient communications including calls.
- Process patient payments received via phone and update account records accordingly.
- Escalate complex issues to supervisors or management for resolution.
- Ensure adherence to client-specific protocols throughout patient billing cycles.
- Respond to and follow up on all requests in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
- Possession of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Reliable means of transportation.
- Strong customer service skills demonstrated through professionalism and responsiveness.
- Strict adherence to patient confidentiality policies.
- Detail-oriented with capacity for careful data management.
- Basic proficiency with computers, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
Work Schedule and Location
- Standard 8-hour work shifts.
- Workweek from Monday to Friday.
- Remote work offered; hybrid arrangement possible for candidates living within 30 miles of Chesterfield office.
