Role Overview

We are searching for a seasoned and strategic Head of Human Resources to steer the HR department. This role entails crafting and implementing people strategies for a dynamic, sales-driven, private equity-backed hardware and furniture fittings division, with a widespread field sales and distribution team operating in multiple states. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to ensure HR initiatives align with organizational growth, overseeing functions in talent recruitment, performance evaluation, employee engagement, remuneration, compliance, and organizational advancement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • MBA or PGDM in Human Resources, or an equivalent postgraduate degree from a recognized institution.
  • Between 3 to 8 years of progressively responsible HR experience in sales-focused, distribution, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Preferred background includes managing HR operations for multi-location field sales teams.

Essential Competencies

  • Robust commercial insight to synchronize HR strategies with overall business and revenue objectives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of labor laws, statutory requirements, and HR governance across various states.
  • Proven expertise in talent acquisition, particularly leadership recruitment and planning scalable manpower for field sales.
  • Direct experience with performance appraisal systems, compensation analysis, and incentive plan development tailored for sales roles.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influence skills to liaise effectively with C-suite executives and regional leaders.
  • Knowledge of HR management software (HRMS/HRIS) and analytics-based HR reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an HR strategy that supports business expansion and leadership priorities.
  • Manage comprehensive talent acquisition activities including executive hiring and scaling field sales staffing across multiple regions.
  • Implement and administer performance management protocols, including setting objectives, conducting evaluations, and designing incentive and compensation frameworks for sales and administrative teams.
  • Lead initiatives to bolster employee engagement, retention, and culture throughout corporate and field locations.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory regulations at all operational sites.
  • Collaborate with business units on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
  • Oversee compensation benchmarking, payroll, and HR policy creation and updates.
  • Champion learning and development programs aimed at enhancing sales and leadership skills organization-wide.
  • Handle employee relations issues, grievance procedures, and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Deliver regular HR performance reports, metrics, and strategic insights to the Managing Director and senior leadership for informed decision-making.
