Butcher

About the Role

The butcher is responsible for multiple tasks including weighing, wrapping, cutting, and trimming meat from larger wholesale portions for retail or factory use.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect meat upon receipt to confirm proper temperature and condition before storage.
• Adhere strictly to hygiene and safety protocols in meat handling and storage.
• Operate meat processing equipment to perform trimming, deboning, portioning, slicing, and processing according to specifications.
• Ensure meat processing machines are clean and maintained in good working order.
• Keep the workspace tidy and sanitary at all times.
• Document sampling, wastage, and daily production or sales data accurately.
• Handle sales transactions and provide excellent customer service fulfilling customers' needs and expectations.
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Basic proficiency in English literacy.
• At least three years of experience in the food or butchery industry.
• Certification in basic food hygiene (WSQ preferred).
