Position Overview

As a Stockperson/Cartpusher, you contribute significantly to providing customers with a secure, organized, and welcoming shopping environment. Your primary responsibility involves retrieving shopping carts from designated areas such as cart corrals, the parking lot, and the store's perimeter, returning them to storage locations following approved Walmart procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve shopping carts from outside locations and return them safely to designated storage areas using Walmart-sanctioned methods, completing all required logs with accuracy.
• Promptly assist requests from cash registers and Customer Service, including helping customers with carrying items in and out as well as verifying proofs of purchase when necessary.
• Perform occasional cleaning and maintenance tasks, including restrooms, adhering to safety guidelines for chemical handling, proper waste disposal, and safe use of machinery; complete necessary equipment inspections before operation.
• Follow safety and emergency protocols including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout procedures, and bloodborne pathogen precautions to ensure a safe space for customers and colleagues.
• Maintain a hazard-free work environment by wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear and reflective vests, conduct safety sweeps as required, and comply with company policies.
• Be flexible with scheduling by being available to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to support smooth store operations and consistent customer service.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage high volumes of tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment, particularly during overnight shifts, planning ahead to sustain energy and concentration.
• Handle physically demanding tasks such as standing for prolonged periods, bending, and lifting supplies up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive activities including stocking, zoning, and organizing products with consistent attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.15.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
