About the Role and Company

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of at least a High Technical School Certificate or an equivalent qualification.

  • Witness painter and blaster qualification tests organized by paint manufacturers and assess the test outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to inspection hold points in surface preparation and coating activities, confirming that work does not proceed beyond these points without authorized approval from the Project Engineer.
  • Oversee in-process inspections for offshore steel structures and topside facilities, validating conformity with company standards, project specifications, and international codes.
  • Report daily to the QA/QC Engineer about contractor compliance, highlighting any deviations impacting quality performance.
  • Ensure all coating inspection activities conform to approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), project requirements, and relevant standards.
  • Review coating-related documents including procedures, method statements, quality records, and inspection reports for project compliance.
  • Witness environmental monitoring and inspection checkpoints such as surface and coating inspections, dry film thickness measurements, adhesion and holiday tests, as well as repair inspections.
  • Verify storage, handling, and application of painting/coating materials align with manufacturer recommendations and project guidelines.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to quality standards for protective coatings applied onshore and offshore.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive inspection records, reports, and quality documentation per project quality management systems.
  • Identify and document quality issues and non-conformities, supporting corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Engage in site audits, surveillance, and quality assessments as required.
  • Promote compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards throughout all coating inspection activities.
