Opportunity Overview
This role involves leading the delivery of projects while collaborating strategically with clients from both public and private sectors in the Southern region and nationally. The position is part of a diverse and dynamic local South Island team of 35 project and programme management specialists, and a national Project Strategy and Delivery team comprising over 180 technical experts offering project management, programme advisory, and cost management services for infrastructure-related projects.
Role Description
As a Project Manager located in Christchurch or Dunedin, you will play an influential leadership role overseeing projects through all phases—from initiation and design, through procurement and consenting, to construction and handover. The projects managed range from small-scale ventures to major buildings, industrial, and infrastructure schemes, impacting sectors including critical infrastructure like water, schools, hospitals, airports, and iconic community landmarks.
Your responsibilities will include cultivating strong relationships with clients by understanding their unique business needs and providing tailored project management solutions. You will ensure projects are governed with solid risk management and financial controls to achieve timely, budget-compliant, and quality outcomes. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential as you will coordinate across various stakeholders and mentor junior team members. Strategic thinking and commercial insight will be applied toward resolving complex challenges to deliver maximum value.
