Site Project Manager - Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO)

Job Overview

The Site Project Manager position involves overseeing all on-site activities for a Seawater Reverse Osmosis desalination project located in Fujairah, UAE. This role demands leadership in managing construction, installation, and commissioning tasks while ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks. The Site Manager serves as the main liaison among the project team, contractors, and client representatives, prioritizing safety and operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site operations for the SWRO desalination project.
• Supervise civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation tasks.
• Ensure execution aligns with approved timelines, budgets, and contractual standards.
• Oversee installation activities of SWRO components including intake/outfall, pretreatment, RO units, and post-treatment systems.
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards in line with company policies and UAE regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk evaluations.
• Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures to meet technical and quality criteria.
• Coordinate efforts with EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Track progress and generate comprehensive reports covering project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Manage allocation and utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials on site.
• Support testing phases including pre-commissioning and commissioning processes.
• Address and resolve technical or operational challenges on-site promptly.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
• Between 15 to 20 years of experience in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a Site Manager or equivalent role.
• Demonstrated expertise in SWRO desalination or extensive water treatment projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of desalination processes, equipment, and construction methodologies.
• Knowledge of international standards such as ASME, API, and ISO.
• Experience working in Middle Eastern projects, preferably within the UAE.
• Proficiency in project management and planning software like Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Certifications like PMP or NEBOSH are advantageous.
• Strong leadership, effective communication, and adept problem-solving capabilities.
