Plant Operator - Quarries

Role overview

An opportunity has opened for an experienced Plant Operator to support the safe, smooth running of mobile and fixed equipment at the Peats Ridge Quarry. This position plays a key role in keeping quarry operations productive and reliable.

Key duties

• Safely run quarry mobile plant such as haul trucks, excavators and/or front-end loaders in an efficient manner.
• Oversee crushing plant operations with care and accuracy.
• Carry out basic maintenance tasks and keep plant and work areas clean and orderly.
• Contribute ideas to solve operational issues and improve processes.
• Take part in safety practices, including pre-start inspections, toolbox meetings and reporting incidents.

What the employer is seeking

• Practical experience operating mobile plant is required; experience with a sales loader would be an advantage.
• An HR truck licence is helpful, though it is not mandatory.
• Background in quarry work is desirable but not essential.
• A self-driven approach with a strong focus on safety and quality is important.
• You should be able to work well in a team and operate with limited supervision.
• Availability for a rotating roster is required.
