Role Overview

As a Kitchen General Helper, you will contribute to the smooth functioning of daily kitchen operations by handling a variety of duties including cleaning, preparing food items, serving meals, and washing dishes.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and dispense food for upcoming production days and assemble individual meal plates.
Adhere strictly to all safety and sanitation standards while performing duties.
Store food items properly by wrapping, dating, and rotating inventory according to food safety guidelines.
Carry out general cleaning responsibilities and ensure removal of trash to designated disposal locations.
Wash dishes and perform other assigned tasks as necessary.
Distribute kitchen supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
Follow approved food recipes and production standards to maintain quality, appropriate serving temperatures, and portion control.
Ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety protocols.
Operate in multiple workstations including areas for meal distribution and packaging.
Willingness to learn the skid wrapping process for finished products.
Engage in food preparation and cooking tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of one year’s experience in food service within restaurant, banquet, or remote camp environments.
Possession of Food Handler Certification or an equivalent provincial certificate is advantageous.
Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively handle workloads.
Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proficient in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
Physical capacity to perform job duties, including lifting items up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions

Shift schedule: 12 hours per day.
Work rotation schedule: 14 days onsite, followed by 14 days off.
