About the Role
As a Key Account Manager for Retail at McCain Foods, you will be pivotal in advancing the company’s retail footprint within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and managing additional responsibilities covering Kuwait and Qatar. This full-time role embraces a customer-centric approach to facilitate seamless business interactions and growth.
Core Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture robust partnerships with leading retail clients and distributors across KSA, Kuwait, and Qatar.
- Develop and implement comprehensive annual sales and account strategies to meet business goals.
- Drive growth in sales revenue, market share, category performance, and profitability.
- Identify new distribution channels to expand product availability and increase in-store presence.
- Oversee distributor performance through joint planning, forecasting, inventory management, and sales monitoring.
- Ensure flawless execution of route-to-market strategies for optimum product availability and visibility.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, competitor movements, and consumer behavior to derive actionable insights.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with clients and distributors focusing on key metrics such as volume, margins, and stock levels.
- Implement customer and channel-specific promotional campaigns and trade activities to boost product sell-through.
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, finance, and demand planning teams to ensure cohesive business operations.
- Accurately forecast demand to balance service quality and stock optimization.
- Negotiate commercial contracts, trade terms, and promotional initiatives with major accounts.
- Manage account profitability, including pricing strategies, investments, and trade spending.
- Provide structured reports highlighting performance, risks, and growth potential.
- Represent McCain in client meetings, market visits, and industry events.
- Continuously seek process improvements and growth opportunities.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Between 5 and 10 years’ experience in sales with a preference for FMCG or food industry exposure.
- Proven expertise in managing key accounts and distributor relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of the retail landscape in KSA; experience in the GCC region is advantageous.
- Track record of achieving commercial objectives and KPIs including volume, revenue, margins, and market share.
- Strong analytical capabilities to convert data into strategic actions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural settings.
- Well-developed organizational and implementation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
- Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
- Willing to undertake regular travel commitments.
