Homecare Technician

Job Overview

The Homecare Technician is responsible for the delivery, installation, removal, risk assessment, and maintenance of oxygen therapy equipment for patients under the Health Service Executive (HSE). This role requires attentiveness to patient needs ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, deliver, remove, and service home oxygen equipment according to patient requirements.
• Ensure all related consumables are supplied as per the patient’s Extended Home Oxygen Order Form (EHOOF).
• Collaborate with Depot and Assistant Depot Managers to maintain reliable service delivery.
• Coordinate effectively with contact center departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Comply with all contractual key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Provide consistently high-quality service to patients with empathy and professionalism.
• Adhere strictly to safe working procedures and operational guidelines.
• Maintain precise and timely data input using personal digital assistant (PDA) devices.

Communication & Working Relationships

• Engage frequently with depot management and field staff.
• Work closely alongside patients and their carers.
• Maintain communication channels with healthcare professionals.
• Cooperate with customer service agents and colleagues at depot and in the field.

Special Working Conditions

The role may require travel to alternative locations to provide assistance or cover as necessary.
