Job Role: Meter Reader Technician (Full-time, Milton ON)
This position involves daily meter reading tasks essential to the utility's operational success. You will be responsible for accepting and completing assigned meter reading routes, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining accurate service records.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out daily meter reading assignments as assigned, ensuring thorough completion.
- Upload and download route and work assignments to align with the utility's schedule requirements.
- Meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to meter reading.
- Comply with all safety policies and programs to maintain a secure work environment.
- Maintain professional and courteous behavior with practical judgment during all work activities.
- Follow GTel’s documented procedures and checklists to ensure efficient, precise, and timely service operations.
- Identify and report any field hazards or operational issues, proposing improvements to service quality and efficiency.
- Regularly update handheld device fields to uphold data accuracy and service quality.
- Properly handle company and utility-issued equipment and property according to guidelines.
- Provide timely weekly updates on all relevant data for accurate payroll processing and customer billing.
Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
- Physical fitness capable of walking long distances (approximately 15-20 km) daily to perform job duties.
- Possession of a reliable vehicle, valid G driver's license, and current vehicle insurance.
- Clean driving record (Driver's Abstract) and clear Criminal Background Check (CBC).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Good coordination and hand-eye skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strong customer relationships.
