About the Role

Portal Biotech is seeking a Finance Assistant to handle daily financial operations within their expanding startup environment. This role offers hands-on experience, providing an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on varied tasks and wants to enhance their finance skills in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage purchase invoice processing including obtaining timely approvals
Handle supplier payments and execute weekly payment runs efficiently
Record and reconcile credit card transactions and employee expenses
Assist in bank reconciliations and keep track of cash flows
Support month-end activities such as accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
Maintain precise financial records using Xero software, transitioning soon to Sage Intacct
Aid in expense processing and payroll administration as needed
Contribute to the enhancement of finance procedures as the company grows

Candidate Profile

Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in Accounts or Finance Assistant roles
Sound knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Proficient with Excel and accounting programs like Xero and Sage
Proactive, dependable, and eager to engage in various tasks
Studying for or interested in starting an AAT qualification is advantageous
