Equipment Technician

Role Overview

This position focuses on supporting SMT equipment performance on the shop floor, including installation, setup, troubleshooting, calibration, and ongoing maintenance. The role also covers production support, quality improvement, spare management, and coordination with engineering and production teams to keep output on schedule and within quality targets.

Core Work

• Operate and support SMT-related machines such as SPI, Fuji, GKG printer, reflow systems, and AOI equipment.
• Carry out maintenance, fault diagnosis, calibration, repair, and recovery activities for SMT machinery.
• Assist with line installation, alignment, and equipment bring-up tasks.
• Handle FUJI mounter programming and look for ways to reduce cycle time.
• Investigate breakdowns, identify root causes, and execute corrective actions.
• Track machine stoppages, control losses, and manage spare parts efficiently.
• Support new product development, CPK/GRR activities, and machine installation projects.
• Make sure every station consistently produces output aligned with company quality standards.
• Review and improve material flow on the line when needed to raise throughput and productivity.
• Work with engineers, managers, and supervisors to build schedules that help achieve 100% on-time delivery to main lines.
• Coordinate daily with line managers, supervisors, and operators to improve quality toward a zero-defect goal.
• Promote a safe, orderly, and clean working area by guiding and informing personnel.
• Confirm that equipment and tools remain in usable condition and are available whenever required.

Education and Experience

• A diploma in a relevant field is required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in SMT is expected.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mayang, Assam, India.
