Supply Technician

Overview

The Supply Technician will manage and coordinate accountable property and supply transactions using the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), ensuring efficient material management within the Department of War Education Activity (DOWEA). The role involves maintaining inventory, processing orders, and carrying out governmental purchasing procedures under strict compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage property and supply transactions in DPAS following DoW mandates.
• Advise senior management on suggested enhancements to systems and processes for improved clarity and efficiency; report issues requiring intervention and confirm resolution of discrepancies.
• Verify fund availability, supply levels, emergency requisites, economic order quantities, and authorize supply orders accordingly.
• Handle incoming mail and correspondence for the District Office, organizing and delivering to relevant parties promptly.
• Interpret technical and procurement documentation such as technical orders, specifications, standards, and manufacturer catalogs.
• Generate and submit supply and equipment orders using automated material management tools.
• Oversee ordering, storage, distribution, and disposal of District curriculum resources.
• Function as the designated Government Purchase Cardholder under supervision, ensuring authorized purchases for the activity.
• Maintain continuous inventory records of accountable property and durable supplies.

Qualifications and Employment Conditions

• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a certification related to Selective Service requirements.
• Proof of U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Salary payments require direct deposit.

Physical Demands and Location

• Regular tasks involve walking, bending, standing, lifting items up to 70 pounds, pushing/pulling carts, and managing deliveries including elevated loading tasks.
• Work environments include offices, schools, warehouses, and storage spaces, requiring physical inventory and item tracing activities.
• Applicants must reside within commuting distance of the position's location in Stuttgart, Germany.
