Program Overview

This rotational editorial program is designed to speed up the development of early-career editorial professionals through hands-on exposure to a wide range of projects, apprenticeship-style learning, and steadily increasing responsibility. The ideal candidate is motivated, resilient, practical, and eager to grow into a valuable long-term contributor to the editorial team and the wider direct-to-consumer lifestyle business.

As a full-time Editorial Assistant, you will rotate through several parts of the business, including Industry Relations, Licensing, Contracts & Operations, Book Selections, Member Experience initiatives, and Allurial, the company’s Romantasy-focused business. After roughly two years, successful participants may move into a more specialized role depending on business needs, individual performance, and the interests shown during the program.

  • Learning actively, welcoming feedback, and applying it to improve performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle editorial operations work such as preparing and executing licensing agreements, entering editorial materials into internal systems, and supporting hardcover and audiobook production tasks.
  • Assist the Department of Cultural Arts & Sciences with cross-functional initiatives, including original print acquisition and Collections work.
  • Contribute to Allurial editorial and marketing activities by evaluating books, supporting advertising and creative execution, and managing the influencer program.
  • Own or support Member Experience projects, test and report on box rate and books-per-box improvements, and turn member insights into clear feedback for the team.

Candidate Profile

  • You bring a strong work ethic and can learn quickly, take on unfamiliar work, and incorporate feedback.
  • You are eager to develop professionally over time and build new skills.
  • You have excellent organization, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • You are comfortable working with numbers and performing data analysis.
  • You write and proofread carefully and pay close attention to detail.
  • You communicate clearly and work well with people at different levels across the business.
  • You exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • You read quickly and widely, and you have strong knowledge of contemporary commercial fiction.
