This vacancy is for a Domestic Assistant based at Crieff Community Hospital within Perth & Kinross locality. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness standards in various healthcare environments including wards, side rooms, theatres, offices, health centers, and general practitioner practices.
Working Pattern
- Band 2 position
- Rota covering Monday to Sunday
- Potential requirement to work on public holidays such as Christmas and New Year, with advance notice provided
- Contracted hours: 15 hours per week
- Shift timing: 9 am to 12 pm
Role Responsibilities and Expectations
- Perform cleaning duties across multiple healthcare settings to maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Work cooperatively as part of a team or independently, which may involve lone working.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing, ensuring information is clearly conveyed.
- Respond positively to unexpected situations and manage stress during pressured periods.
- Complete all necessary domestic paperwork accurately.
- Maintain awareness of health and safety and infection control procedures relevant to the position.
- Follow instructions carefully and work methodically.
- Complete mandatory training through both online and face-to-face sessions.
- Carry out physically demanding tasks safely, which may include walking, standing for extended periods, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting with appropriate tools.
- Adapt to working in busy clinical environments, including areas with elevated temperatures, secure units, and with distressed patients.
- Operate professionally at all times maintaining confidentiality.
- Be reliable, responsible, open to learning, and adaptable to change.
- Be prepared to work at different NHS Tayside locations as required.
Additional Details
Employees are required to complete the Healthcare Support Workers Workbook to demonstrate competency and are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct during their employment.
NHS Tayside must verify that all employees have the legal right to work in the UK. This role does not qualify for skilled worker visa sponsorship.
