Role Overview

VulnCheck is hiring a highly organized Bookkeeper to work with the Controller on everyday finance operations for a growing SaaS business. In this position, you will help manage core accounting work from accounts payable and receivable through month-end closing, while keeping financial records accurate and well maintained as the company scales. This is a strong fit for someone who values clean books, likes structured work, and wants to develop inside a finance team at a technology company.

Location

This is a US remote role, with preference for candidates based in Oregon, Austin, or Boston.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle support work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
• Help complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Create and record journal entries for period-end closing activities when required.
• Assist with preparation of supporting schedules used in financial statements.
• Provide support during external audit processes.
• Keep records, files, and source documentation organized and easy to trace.
• Identify workflow issues and work with the Controller to improve processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, including meaningful exposure to SaaS or technology companies.
• Solid understanding of GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Experience using Ramp or similar bill payment systems.
• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for daily work support.
• Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a high volume of transactions reliably.
• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Cybersecurity experience is a plus.
