About Wynn Al Marjan Island
Scheduled to open in 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island is an extravagant beachside resort in the UAE, located under an hour from Dubai International Airport. The integrated destination will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 dining venues, a theatre, nightclub, and a luxurious spa, all nestled on a scenic island extending into the Arabian Gulf.
Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Training Director to join the Gaming Academy team, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training and development programs within the gaming department.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver extensive training programs covering all major casino games to ensure operational excellence and superior service quality.
- Maintain customer service training standards for Table Games and Electronic Gaming Machines (EGM), aligned with Wynn's luxury brand expectations.
- Collaborate closely with the EGM department to oversee customer service and succession training, while technical EGM training is managed internally.
- Develop structured learning paths for onboarding new employees, cross-skilling, skill enhancement, and career advancement.
- Lead training initiatives for pre-opening preparation and ongoing professional development within the Gaming Department.
- Conduct engaging classroom, practical, and on-the-floor training sessions employing adult learning principles.
- Coach and mentor gaming trainers, supervisors, and managers to enhance instructional capabilities.
- Ensure training content embodies Wynn’s service culture, upscale positioning, and guest experience standards.
- Create and facilitate advanced customer service programs tailored to the gaming environment, embedding luxury service behaviors throughout the gaming roles.
- Assist gaming leadership with initiatives focused on service reinforcement and recovery training.
- Guarantee all training content complies with UAE gaming laws and internal Wynn controls.
- Maintain detailed records of training certifications, logs, and audit materials.
- Work in collaboration with Compliance and Learning & Development teams to ensure completion of mandatory trainings.
- Design and implement succession plans for critical gaming positions, spanning both table and electronic gaming sectors.
- Identify high-potential talent and establish targeted development plans to cultivate leadership within the organization.
- Coordinate with People & Culture and gaming leaders to align training efforts with performance management and succession outcomes.
- Leverage Learning Management Systems and digital platforms to facilitate and monitor training delivery.
- Incorporate innovative learning techniques including simulations, gamification, and e-learning modules.
- Keep abreast of worldwide gaming trends and integrate best practices into the training curriculum.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in education, hospitality, business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years’ managerial experience in gaming training environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in training across all primary casino games.
- Extensive background in designing and implementing customer service training within gaming or luxury hospitality sectors.
- Proven success in developing and executing succession planning strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of gaming regulations, internal controls, and operational processes.
- Strong skills in instructional design and adult learning methodologies.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Prior experience with pre-opening or large-scale training setups is advantageous.
- Certifications in Learning & Development or Training (such as ATD, CIPD, CPTD, or equivalent) are desirable.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools is preferred.
