About the Role
Join our team as a Student Research Assistant supporting academic projects focused on marketing and consumer behavior at the Argyros College of Business and Economics, Chapman University, located in Orange, CA. This part-time position involves assisting with collecting, managing, and analyzing various forms of qualitative and quantitative data from sources including social media, advertisements, interviews, and archival content.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and organize research data from digital platforms and historical archives.
- Code and interpret qualitative data such as social media posts, interviews, and ads.
- Contribute to literature reviews and manage references effectively.
- Assist in conducting data analysis and creating visual representations.
- Prepare research documents, presentations, and manuscripts to support academic dissemination.
Qualifications
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or equivalent spreadsheet software.
- Knowledge and experience with qualitative research techniques and/or statistical analysis methods.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and respect deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Completed coursework in research methodologies or statistics.
- Experience in academic research including literature reviews and data gathering.
- Excellent written communication skills and organizational competence.
- Keen interest in research, graduate education, or a research-related career path.
Additional Information
- Position is intended for undergraduate students.
- Duration spans Summer 2026 through Fall semester, with an anticipated start date of June 15, 2026, and projected end date of May 31, 2027.
- Workload averages up to 10 hours per week, scheduled in accordance with Chapman University's academic calendar.
- Compensation is set at $16.90 per hour, subject to qualifications and organizational considerations.
- No requirement for Federal work-study participation.
