Job description
Position Overview
The Staff Pharmacist plays a key role in delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care by accurately dispensing prescriptions, counseling customers, and maintaining compliance with legal and company policies. This role includes overseeing controlled medications, ensuring documentation accuracy, and providing expert guidance to the pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and counsel customers on health and medication use.
- Safeguard confidential patient information and keep controlled substance records updated.
- Develop, execute, and refine action plans to improve pharmacy practices in line with current expertise.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, implement solutions, and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and training to pharmacy associates, promoting exceptional customer service and resolving issues in accordance with company guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards through audits, loss prevention controls, and safety reviews.
- Administer immunizations and other health programs per pharmacy board statutes and Walmart guidelines.
- Create a culture focused on patient safety, quality care, and transparent reporting of errors.
- Implement and monitor health care compliance efforts including billing procedures, HIPAA adherence, and SOPs.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful workplace that supports diversity and associate growth.
- Promote ethical behavior, integrity, and accountability aligning with Walmart’s values and sustainability goals.
- Make informed decisions balancing customer needs and long-term business objectives.
- Continuously pursue learning, innovation, and improvement to deliver excellent pharmaceutical services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a PharmD, or equivalent qualification (FPGE, NABP certified).
- Valid pharmacy license by the date of employment.
- Completion of an ACPE accredited immunization training program.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range is $98,000 to $172,000 based on a 40-hour workweek, prorated for different schedules. Additional compensation may include performance bonuses.
