Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order in the self checkout area by removing clutter, fixtures, debris, and spills to keep the space safe and inviting.
• Promote Walmart's programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns to customers, when applicable.
• Assist customers in using the self checkout stations efficiently and confidently by monitoring activity, addressing any issues, and providing clear, friendly explanations.
• Handle cash or technical problems by escalating these to the Customer Service Manager promptly.
• Respond to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) system alerts strictly following established procedures and maintain the corresponding failure logs conscientiously.
• Ensure all Scan & Go devices are properly returned to their designated storage after customer use.
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs to provide consistent, quality service.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-moving environment, particularly during overnight shifts, by maintaining personal energy and focus.
• Perform physical duties such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting inventory or supplies up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Carry out repetitive tasks like stocking, zoning, and organizing merchandise with consistent attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.15 per hour.
