Job description
Position Overview
A company seeks an adept Payroll & Finance Executive to handle comprehensive Irish payroll processing while aiding broader finance, regulatory compliance, and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will possess deep payroll expertise, keen attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Finance teams, and external payroll vendors. Holding an IPASS accreditation is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, verify, and reconcile Irish payroll cycles on a weekly and monthly basis
- Accurately administer high volumes of payroll adjustments each period ensuring full compliance
- Address employee inquiries related to PAYE, USC, PRSI, Benefits-in-Kind, leave entitlements, and other payroll deductions
- Execute manual payroll calculations when necessary
- Set up and maintain payroll deduction schemes, including pensions, TaxSaver, Cycle to Work, VHI, loans, and savings plans
- Administer defined benefit and contribution pension schemes for active and deferred members
- Coordinate with pension trustees and providers to manage pension-related queries
- Conduct annual pensioner verification checks and associated control procedures
- Manage VHI policy renewals, process monthly amendments, and adjust premiums accordingly
- Prepare various official salary documentation such as salary certificates, social welfare filings, mortgage, and loss of earnings documentation
- File statutory payroll and finance returns including ROS ERR, VIES, CSO, and Kantar sales reports
- Maintain compliance with Irish Revenue regulations, employment legislation, and internal policies
- Plan and execute payroll audits and upkeep risk and control frameworks for payroll
- Create weekly and monthly standard and accrual payroll journals for accounting purposes
- Upload payroll journal entries to SAP or similar ERP platforms
- Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and balance sheets using Blackline or equivalent tools
- Support pension and payroll audits and collaborate on year-end finance activities alongside financial accounting teams
- Collaborate with HR, Recruitment, Finance, and banking departments as well as third-party service providers
- Prepare monthly payments and remittance advices for third parties and share corresponding backup documents
- Provide operational support and supervision during Payroll Manager or team member absences
