About the Role
The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team at Amazon is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its workforce. The team directs strategic initiatives and provides resources to promote health, safety, and wellness for all employees. We are looking for an experienced Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join our team in St Thomas, Ontario, working onsite with WHS site managers and specialists to support safety and health programs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver first aid care independently and refer employees to external medical professionals when required.
- Promote injury prevention by increasing awareness and engaging employees proactively.
- Maintain detailed records of medical care delivered to associates.
- Manage the workers’ compensation process and facilitate return-to-work programs for workplace injuries.
- Prepare and submit daily activity logs and shift completion reports.
- Engage with associates and leadership on operational floors to coach employees on minimizing at-risk work practices.
- Ensure cleanliness of medical workspaces and proper stock of medical supplies.
- Participate in and facilitate training sessions for first aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Regularly update and maintain credentials related to first aid, CPR, and AED.
- Work flexible schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Assist with implementing protocols for random saliva drug testing.
- Provide emergency care efficiently and support emergency response efforts onsite.
- Physically able to lift up to 49 pounds, perform tasks requiring squatting, bending, reaching, frequent walking/standing for up to 12 hours, climbing stairs, and working in noisy or variable environmental conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of CPR training course and possession of valid certification in first aid, CPR, and AED through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (or willingness to obtain certification within four weeks of employment).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- For Ontario candidates:
- Must hold a valid Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level A or C certification from a WSIB-approved organization.
- Possess at least one of the following professional certifications: a valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) certification or be a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) recognized by the Ministry of Health or relevant nursing regulatory bodies.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Familiarity with workers’ compensation policies and processes.
- Certified experience teaching first aid, CPR, and AED.
- Military Medic background within Canadian Armed Forces is an advantage.
- Certification to instruct first aid courses with Canadian Red Cross.
- Expertise in managing industrial wellness programs.
- Knowledge of ergonomics, musculoskeletal disorder management, and employee coaching for safe body mechanics.
- Experience with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation compliance.
- Strong digital record-keeping skills.

The hourly base salary range for this position is CAD 28 to CAD 36. The overall compensation package may include sign-on bonuses, restricted stock units, and comprehensive employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement savings plans, paid time off, and wellness resources.
