Mechanical Lead

About the Role

Elusav Recruitment presents an exceptional position for a Mechanical Lead with one of Europe's largest engineering contracting firms. This role is based on a Data Centre project in Munich, Bavaria, where the candidate will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of mechanical packages from installation right through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee site safety in partnership with the project team and Safety Advisor, including managing and closing the safety documentation.
• Lead a team of engineers and supervisors, collaborating with other disciplines to avoid scheduling delays or disruptions.
• Manage site Quality Assurance related to the Mechanical package, including organization and closure of the QA files.
• Work alongside the project team, consulting engineers, and client representatives to control and align the project schedule.
• Supervise all cost elements such as labor, materials, plant, equipment, variations, and valuations on the project.
• Handle all routine site operations management.
• Oversee subcontractor activities by monitoring progress, manpower, and convening weekly documented meetings.
• Administer the company's in-progress snagging system, ensuring supervisors provide weekly punch lists where needed.
• Allocate direct labor and subcontractor hours to the time administrator for centralized tracking.
• Participate in site meetings, project reviews, engineering consultations, planning coordination, and handover sessions.
• Complete final project closeout tasks including final accounts, O&M manuals, punch lists, safety and QA files, material and plant relocations, and project plans with project management support.
• Support upload of weekly internal progress reports to the project Filekey system, compiling data from supervisors to reflect progress by WBS codes and identify risks such as delayed deliveries.
• Produce internal weekly progress reports for the Project Manager highlighting unavailable resources, delays, design shortages, and third-party holdups, which feed into the external project reporting.
• Ensure all subcontractor documentation, particularly safety-related, is current and properly archived.
• Provide weekly safety statistics and labor projections for the project.
• Lead weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to capture all variations and coordinate cost communication with the client.
• Attain all internal and external Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Develop and implement company procedures with the team.
• Ensure proper management of change control regarding cost and program adjustments.
• Perform any additional duties pertinent to the Mechanical Lead position.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a trade background supported by a tertiary-level qualification.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating engineering projects effectively.
• At least three years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
