Role overview

Star Construction, LLC is hiring a Locator to identify and mark underground utilities using flags and paint so projects can move forward safely and efficiently.

What you'll do

• Use detection tools to identify underground utilities and mark them accurately, seeking help from experienced locators when needed.
• Interpret utility maps to pinpoint utility locations correctly.
• Keep records of all locate activities.
• Answer excavation notices quickly and professionally.
• Coordinate clearly with excavators, utility representatives, and internal team members.
• Perform light hand digging with a shovel when required.
• Be available for overtime, travel, and on-call or after-hours work as needed.
• Carry out duties in a wide range of weather conditions.

Requirements

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You need authorization to work in the United States for this employer.
• A high school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience is required.
• You must have a valid state driver's license that is not provisional, along with an acceptable driving record.

Physical demands

• Regularly: work independently in remote areas, keep arms overhead, operate a vehicle, use fine hand movements, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, and use a keyboard and mouse.
• Occasionally: use a portable ladder, work in confined spaces, and climb stairs.
