About the Role
Since 1989, Lifeline Services has provided trusted support to Darlington's residents by offering equipment that ensures users and their carers can live safely and independently at home. The Lifeline Response Officer plays a key role by demonstrating, installing, and monitoring assistive technology, as well as responding swiftly to emergency calls as needed. This position is based at the Town Hall and requires calmness, compassion, quick thinking, and adaptability in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
The role involves responding to emergency calls, demonstrating and fitting Lifeline technology, monitoring equipment functionality, and responding to user needs with professionalism and care. It also requires managing administrative duties related to databases and Microsoft Office systems while ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Requirements
Ideal candidates should have a confident command of database software and Microsoft Office tools, a solid understanding of GDPR, good communication skills, and the ability to engage compassionately with diverse individuals. Experience working in customer-facing positions, particularly involving elderly or vulnerable populations, is desirable. Officers must be approachable, organized, flexible, and motivated with a positive outlook.
Work Hours and Conditions
The full-time role consists of 37 hours per week with working hours spanning Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. An Enhanced DBS check including the Adult Barred List is mandatory for employment.
Compensation
The salary range is from 27,254 to 28,598 annually, within the £20,001 - £30,000 band.
