Role Overview
As Finance Manager, you will spearhead financial planning, analysis, reporting, and advisory services related to the Sales and Customer portfolio. This fixed-term role is based in Mascot, Sydney, and continues until September 2027. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will collaborate with key finance business partners to consolidate and review business unit outcomes, provide analyses, insights, comments, and strategic guidance on financial performance. The role ensures robust financial governance and compliance over profit & loss and balance sheet accounts and works cross-functionally with stakeholders to manage financial outcomes and expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and delivery of financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the Sales and Customer segments.
- Collaborate with financial controllers, divisional managers, and senior teams to oversee and interpret financial data and results.
- Ensure compliance with financial governance and controls related to profit and loss as well as balance sheet items.
- Provide comprehensive and strategic insights to influence business decision-making.
- Manage multiple stakeholders across finance and business divisions to align financial objectives.
- Mentor and lead a small finance team to achieve objectives and resolve financial challenges.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business disciplines.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, or MBA are mandatory.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in financial management or accounting roles.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams to solve complex financial problems.
- Proven experience in leading and coaching small teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work across divisions.
- Capacity to influence, negotiate, and effectively present financial findings.
- In-depth knowledge of business unit cost drivers and financial performance management.
- Experience designing, building, and critically analyzing budgets, forecasts, and financial models aligned to organizational objectives.
- Understanding of financial and business processes underpinning budgeting and forecasting.
