Role overview

Qantas is seeking a permanent Group Manager for Business Integrity & Third-Party Risk, based at the Mascot Campus in Sydney. This role sits within the Business Integrity and Compliance team, which is responsible for supporting an effective business integrity compliance program across the Qantas Group. The team works to promote ethical conduct by employees and by external parties engaged by the group, in line with the laws, policies and standards that apply across the jurisdictions where Qantas operates.

The position is focused on building, strengthening and running the Group’s Third-Party Risk Management framework across anti-bribery and anti-corruption, sanctions, and modern slavery risk. It also supports sound decision-making across the value chain, including suppliers, major transactions, joint ventures and investments.

Key accountabilities

  • Own the design, ongoing improvement and oversight of the Group’s third-party risk management framework, keeping it proportionate, risk-led and aligned with legal and policy expectations.
  • Develop and maintain policies, standards, procedures and governance arrangements for third-party risk, with clear escalation routes and risk acceptance processes.
  • Strengthen program maturity by improving controls, processes, tools and operating practices.
  • Create and deliver insightful reporting for senior leaders and governance groups, covering third-party exposure, emerging risk patterns and program performance.
  • Serve as a senior specialist on anti-bribery/anti-corruption, sanctions and modern slavery matters, offering expert guidance to business stakeholders.
  • Direct risk-based due diligence across a wide range of third parties, including higher-risk suppliers, extended supply chains, intermediaries, major transactions, joint ventures and investments.
  • Provide practical, hands-on support for enhanced due diligence and complex risk assessments, ensuring recommendations are clear and decision-ready.
  • Lead and develop a small due diligence team, improving capability, consistency and quality of outputs.
  • Work closely with Legal, Procurement, Sustainability, Finance and business units to embed third-party risk considerations into business processes and transaction stages.
  • Spot and implement opportunities to improve governance, tools and the way the program operates.

Experience and capabilities

  • Substantial experience in third-party risk, compliance or business integrity within a large or complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to design and develop frameworks, policies and governance models, not just complete due diligence tasks.
  • Deep knowledge of anti-bribery and anti-corruption and sanctions, plus working understanding of modern slavery risk, especially in supply chains and complex third-party structures.
  • Experience overseeing or carrying out risk-based and enhanced business integrity due diligence for suppliers and high-value transaction-related third parties.
  • Ability to give balanced, well-structured advice to senior stakeholders on third-party risk, including escalation and treatment options.
  • Experience leading or coaching specialist team members and collaborating across multiple functions.
  • Strong analytical, judgement and communication skills, with the ability to convert complex risk issues into clear business outcomes.
  • Trusted partner who can drive change, navigate conflict, align different viewpoints, make decisions and build agreement on goals.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement and process uplift.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to manage varied tasks and respond quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
