Overview
MoveSmart Rentals seeks a dependable and meticulous Cleaner to manage cleaning assignments at residential rental properties. The role involves performing cleaning services including move-in, move-out, rental turnover, and preparing properties to be listing-ready. MoveSmart Rentals is a comprehensive leasing partner leveraging proprietary technology to expedite leasing, minimize vacancies, and thoroughly screen applicants. The company syndicates rental listings across MLS and over 20 platforms, overseeing the entire leasing process from listing creation to tenant move-in.
Job Responsibilities
- Attend scheduled cleaning appointments at various residential rental properties.
- Perform standard residential cleaning in line with company guidelines.
- Clean all key interior spaces including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, and related fixtures.
- Remove dust, dirt, debris, trash, and any leftover items as needed.
- Wipe down surfaces such as counters, sinks, mirrors, doors, baseboards, and other high-touch areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
- Clean appliance interiors when required, including fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer, and dryer.
- Detect areas needing further cleaning, junk removal, repairs, maintenance, or additional follow-up.
- Take clear before-and-after photographs and videos documenting cleaning completion.
- Provide detailed updates including notes, photos, and videos after each cleaning session.
- Maintain professional communication with landlords, tenants, applicants, and internal teams.
- Adhere to company instructions, cleaning checklists, property access directions, and appointment specifics.
Typical Cleaning Tasks
- Move-in and move-out cleaning

- Kitchen, bathroom, and appliance cleaning
- Floor care including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping
- Dusting and cleaning surfaces, cabinets, drawers, window sills, and baseboards

- Pre-listing cleaning to prepare properties for photography, showings, inspections, or tenant move-in
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in cleaning roles such as cleaner, housekeeper, residential cleaner, or related positions.
- Thorough knowledge of residential cleaning standards and best practices.
- Reliable transportation to reach multiple rental properties independently.
- Possession of necessary cleaning supplies and equipment for all appointments.
- Comfortable operating independently in the field without direct supervision.
- Own an iPhone 13 or equivalent smartphone equipped with a high-quality camera for documentation purposes.
- Able to capture clear photos and videos of properties and cleaning outcomes.
- Capable of writing coherent notes and submitting updates promptly after each visit.
- Professional demeanor including punctuality, reliability, attention to detail, and respectful communication.
- Able to carefully follow checklists, instructions, and property access information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with move-in, move-out, or rental turnover cleaning.
- Prior work cleaning rental properties in preparation for photos, showings, inspections, or tenant move-in.
- Ability to recognize property issues such as damage, maintenance needs, junk removal, pest problems, access challenges, or unsafe conditions.
- Experience working solo on-site for companies in property management, leasing, cleaning, or home services sectors.
