Role Overview
The Bar Manager ensures outstanding guest service aligning with Rosewood's brand promise, oversees bar operations, manages financials, supports marketing efforts, and leads the bar team to deliver exceptional hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring delivery of exceptional guest service and compliance with Rosewood’s standards.
- Regularly observing guest and associate interactions and coaching team members to enhance service skills.
- Resolving guest and associate complaints promptly and maintaining positive relationships.
- Implementing beverage policies and monitoring beverage costs to remain within budget.
- Setting appropriate selling prices based on F&B controller guidance and financial systems.
- Managing stock levels and operational efficiency across bar areas.
- Communicating business performance and coordinating with management on concerns or support needs.
- Handling administrative duties including associate reviews, holiday forms, stocktaking, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies.
- Maintaining optimal manpower and productivity ratios for all bar operations.
- Monitoring sales metrics daily and identifying opportunities to exceed revenue goals.
- Managing incentive programs for upselling and promotions.
- Supporting marketing campaigns relevant to the bar.
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of bar layout, menus, drink preparations, ingredients, and pricing.
- Keeping informed of hotel occupancy, arrivals, departures, SAG guests, and local events to assist guests effectively.
- Operating bar systems such as Micros, Open Table, Knowcross, and others as required.
- Fostering excellent guest rapport and upholding associate conduct and grooming standards.
- Strictly adhering to health, safety, hygiene, and fire regulations.
- Representing management positively and maintaining confidentiality with SAG guests.
- Mentoring and training associates, monitoring their development, and addressing performance issues.
- Organizing schedules, team meetings, and daily briefings to ensure smooth operations.
- Overseeing bar closing procedures and maintenance reporting.
- Implementing results from engagement surveys and department reporting.
