Job Overview
The Supply Chain Engineer (SCE) plays a critical role in enhancing factory manufacturing availability and addresses supplier labor challenges such as local FSE labor concerns, supplier performance, and prolonged equipment downtime at Factory 25 (F25).
Core Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to resolve and improve quality issues linked to supplier safety, quality standards, and site MQI closure performance by managing 8D problem-solving processes collaboratively with suppliers and modules.
- Drive manufacturing availability by partnering with factory modules to tackle limiting toolset issues, define problems, create roadmaps, and engage or escalate concerns with suppliers.
- Collaborate with factory leadership and modules to optimize cost structures, promote performance aligned with outcome-based contracts, and pinpoint cost-saving opportunities.
- Mentor junior SCEs and lead initiatives to standardize improvements across the Virtual Factory (VF).
Additional Duties
- Assist senior leadership in embedding process and quality advancements within Intel’s supply chain and logistics strategies by defining inspection methods and conducting studies to control costs and improve yield.
- Contribute to long-term product planning by establishing next-generation methodologies supporting Intel's supply chain roadmap and researching emerging technologies.
- Identify discrepancies between roadmap strategies, manufacturing capacities, and market demands, proposing solutions to bridge those gaps.
- Analyze supply and demand trends, perform root cause analyses, and work with supply chain teams to implement improvements.
- Lead supplier selections for new business alongside commodity managers, developing product and purchase specifications to ensure compliance.
- Mitigate risks through alternative sourcing for single-sourced commodities.
- Set control standards, track KPIs, monitor supply chain performance, and lead root cause investigations for issues to devise resolutions.
- Oversee supplier validation activities for critical processes throughout development stages.
- Enhance supplier quality, reliability, yield, and cost effectiveness while maintaining consistent quality standards and specifications.
- Manage quality excursions and conduct failure mode analyses with suppliers.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- A Level 8 or Honors Bachelor’s degree from the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain disciplines.
- At least 2 years of experience in supplier management, contract management, or supply chain management.
- 2 or more years of experience in engineering and team leadership roles.
Preferred qualifications:
- Excellent stakeholder and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
- A Level 9/MBA qualification and semiconductor fabrication experience are advantageous.
- Strong data analysis expertise, including forecasting and budget management abilities.
- Proven planning, organizational, scientific problem-solving, and project management skills.
- High proficiency in systems including Microsoft Office applications.
Work Conditions and Other Information
This full-time position is located onsite in Leixlip, County Kildare, Ireland, and works primarily Shift 1 (Ireland). The role is classified as an Experienced Hire opportunity. Compensation: The salary range offered in Ireland is €71,300 to €133,900 annually, based on skills, experience, and education. The compensation package may also include additional benefits and pay components.
