Specialist - Operational Readiness

Role Overview

The Specialist in Operational Readiness is responsible for facilitating the planning, coordination, and implementation of all activities ensuring new assets, facilities, systems, or services are fully prepared to operate successfully. This position involves closely monitoring readiness progress, liaising with various stakeholders, and maintaining thorough documentation to guarantee a smooth transition from project completion into operational status.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and upkeep of comprehensive Operational Readiness plans, timelines, and monitoring tools.
• Engage with internal teams to supervise readiness tasks, gathering updates on their status.
• Monitor and manage readiness milestones, key actions, risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating issues as necessary.
• Help prepare detailed readiness reports, create dashboards, and develop presentations for senior management.
• Contribute to drafting and reviewing operational procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
• Organize readiness-focused workshops, meetings, and on-site evaluations while documenting outcomes and follow-up activities.
• Support testing efforts including operational trials, simulations, and assessments of readiness levels.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation including readiness proof and project archives.
• Ensure all necessary operational documentation is finalized prior to handover.
• Collaborate extensively with project teams and operational units to ensure a seamless shift to business-as-usual processes.
• Proactively identify and suggest enhancements to readiness procedures and reporting mechanisms.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Between 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in Operational Readiness, Project Management, Operations, Consulting, or similar areas.
• Foundational knowledge of project lifecycle stages and operational handover practices.
• Strong skills in analysis and problem solving.
