Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Clearance & Customs Specialist to join our Supply Chain Department. This role involves managing import and export customs clearance to ensure all operations comply with Saudi Customs regulations. The specialist will oversee customs duty exemptions, refund claims, and industrial subsidy initiatives, working closely with various stakeholders to maintain smooth, compliant, and cost-efficient supply chain activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage import processes for spare parts, equipment, and raw materials, including verifying invoices and classifying items by HS Codes.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, Saudi Customs, SFDA, and other regulatory bodies to achieve prompt and compliant shipment clearance.
  • Monitor and track inbound shipments to ensure timely arrival at the warehouse.
  • Review customs clearance invoices carefully before handing them over to the Finance Department for processing.
  • Handle export activities, preparing necessary documentation, customs declarations, permits, and tracking shipment progress.
  • Provide export certificates and generate required export reports.
  • Administer customs duty exemption applications through proper data compilation, submission, and consistent follow-up with authorities.
  • Process customs duty refund requests by preparing accurate documents, submitting claims, and pursuing reimbursements.
  • Assist with obtaining industrial funding and subsidies by preparing necessary paperwork and liaising with banks, government agencies, and legal advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade policies, and internal procedures while seeking ways to streamline processes and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate effectively with Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, and Regulatory teams to support integrated supply chain functions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Trade, or related discipline.
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in customs clearance, international trade, or supply chain compliance.
  • In-depth understanding of Saudi Customs rules, HS Code classification, and customs documentation requirements.
  • Proven experience working with Saudi customs authorities, SFDA, customs brokers, and related governmental agencies.
  • Strong analytical abilities, excellent organizational skills, effective communication, and a problem-solving mindset.
