Role Overview
We are seeking a Rostering and Scheduling Officer to ensure optimal placement of staff within our aged care setting. This fast-paced role involves developing and managing staff schedules that maintain consistent quality care while balancing compliance, workforce needs, and sudden changes. It suits someone skilled in organisation and problem-solving who understands the complexities of rostering within aged care or healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain accurate and efficient staff rosters supporting excellent service delivery.
- Align schedules with client care plans, service agreements, and staffing requirements.
- Respond agilely to last-minute adjustments including unplanned absences and urgent shift coverage.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimise workforce use and ensure continuity of care.
- Utilise rostering software and related technology to enhance scheduling efficiency.
- Communicate professionally with staff, leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Engage in proactive planning and timely problem-solving to support operational goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in rostering, scheduling, or workforce coordination, ideally in aged care, healthcare, disability, or complex service environments.
- Proficient organisational and problem-solving skills, capable of managing competing priorities under pressure.
- A calm and solutions-oriented mindset when handling urgent changes.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with rostering systems, Microsoft Office, and technology tools.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
- A proactive and team-focused attitude recognising the impact of effective rostering on quality care.
