About the Role
Join Parsons Corporation as a Principal Transportation Planner based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This role involves leading comprehensive transportation studies and obtaining necessary authority approvals within Abu Dhabi, taking full responsibility for delivering technical work and managing submissions through to approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop transportation master plans and conduct traffic impact assessments for developments of varying sizes, including gathering and analyzing data, and formulating mitigation strategies.
- Conduct urban and metropolitan transportation planning and traffic engineering projects such as corridor and regional network studies.
- Perform operational traffic analyses using software tools such as SYNCHRO, SIDRA, HCS, and VISSIM.
- Apply knowledge of travel demand modeling in planning activities.
- Coordinate closely with road design and urban planning teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of practical experience in transportation planning, including conducting impact studies and developing master plans.
- Proficiency with operational and/or travel demand modeling software.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
Preferred Attributes
- Master’s degree in Transportation Planning or a related discipline.
- Experience with public transit and non-motorized transportation planning.
- Strong familiarity with Abu Dhabi authorities’ approval processes, including ITC approvals.
