Job Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming routine samples and allocate them to appropriate laboratory sections based on analysis type.
- Promptly notify the shift in charge if any samples are abnormal or missing as per the schedule.
- Follow standardized test methods and quality system procedures rigorously.
- Perform required tests and validate results prior to reporting to ensure accuracy.
- Identify any deviations or exceptions in test results and report them to the relevant personnel.
- Undertake immediate corrective measures during emergencies under shift in charge supervision.
- Manage samples efficiently, including safe disposal of remnants in prescribed containers.
- Enter test results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) promptly.
- Maintain availability and cleanliness of analytical instruments, equipment, and glassware for subsequent tests.
- Ensure laboratory housekeeping standards are met consistently.
- Maintain accurate data records across raw data books, LIMS, and process registers.
- Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and other statutory requirements.
- Operate safely with chemicals and tools in compliance with safety norms.
- Report any unsafe acts or conditions to laboratory management for rectification.
- Proactively engage in training and mentoring to improve competencies, including participation in external programs as guided by section head.
- Manage multiple interfaces including business, customer, operations, Engineering & Maintenance, and HSE functions efficiently.
- Demonstrate competencies in fire safety, waste management, integrated management systems, and compliance with company HSE policies and procedures.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of test procedures and standard result reporting methods.
- Competent in handling samples according to their categories and performing analyses as per standard protocols.
- Knowledgeable about process stream samples specifically related to critical results.
- Capable of adapting to various chemical and instrumental testing techniques.
- Effective communicator to report abnormal or off-specification results to shift in charge promptly.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Minimum qualification of B.Sc. in Chemistry or Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred industry exposure includes Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Polyester, Polymer manufacturing, and Chemical sectors; candidates from pharmaceutical backgrounds are not preferred.

- Working on-site at Jamnagar, Gujarat.
