Overview
We are recruiting a distinguished Governess/Nanny to join a ultra-high net worth individual (UHNWI) household. The role demands a knowledgeable caregiver who offers exceptional childcare services and educational guidance, ensuring the children’s safety, welfare, and holistic growth. The candidate must have a proven track record with elite families, be academically accomplished, and comfortable accompanying the family on travels.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide vigilant supervision and quality care for children, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
- Create an engaging, nurturing atmosphere that fosters physical, emotional, and intellectual progress.
- Develop and lead educational activities such as play-based learning, reading sessions, and assist with homework.
- Instill positive values, etiquette, and social skills promoting personal development.
- Travel with the principal and children on both domestic and international journeys, managing logistics and care needs while away.
- Prepare and organize essential items including clothing, toys, and educational materials for travel.
- Facilitate development through sports, arts, music, language lessons, and cultural outings tailored to children’s interests.
- Support household errands like purchasing children’s necessities, coordinating appointments, and assisting with light housekeeping related to children’s areas.
- Ensure timely school drop-offs and pick-ups, liaising with educational staff and overseeing children’s readiness for school.
- Lead age-appropriate play activities encouraging social, cognitive, and imaginative growth; supervise playdates as applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrable experience as a Governess or senior nanny, preferably within UHNWI or high-profile family settings.
- Strong academic credentials and mastery of appropriate educational methodologies.
- Comprehensive childcare expertise, including infant, toddler, and school-age child development.
- Flexibility to travel extensively and adapt to variable schedules and environments.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with children, parents, and household staff.
- Commitment to fostering a stimulating and caring learning environment.
- Capability to assist with errands and household tasks relevant to childcare.
- Optional newborn care experience is advantageous.
- Proven skills in organizing events and parties.
- Knowledge of school transport procedures and logistics.
- First aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
- Patience, adaptability, and professionalism in challenging circumstances.
