Role Overview
The Fund Accountant will be responsible for executing essential fund accounting processes across a portfolio of venture capital funds. This position suits individuals who are highly detail-oriented, structured, and eager to take ownership while developing in-depth knowledge of venture capital fund operations at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily fund accounting operations such as booking transactions, handling allocations, and overseeing capital activities.
- Maintain precise general ledger records for assigned funds.
- Prepare periodic financial statements along with necessary supporting documentation.
- Support processes related to capital calls, distributions, and investor reports.
- Assist with audit preparation and tax-related work by generating clean, well-organized workpapers.
- Adhere consistently to established processes and internal controls.
- Promptly report any questions or inconsistencies to senior team members.
Candidate Profile
- 2 to 4+ years of experience in fund accounting, accounting roles, or fund administration.
- Understanding of venture capital or private equity fund structures.
- Strong attention to detail paired with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple fund deadlines reliably.
- Clear written communication skills and dependable follow-through.
- Keen interest in enhancing accounting processes using improved systems, data analytics, or automation.
- Experience supporting audits or year-end closing is advantageous but not mandatory.
