Trade and Retail Merchandiser - Building Materials

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive Trade and Retail Merchandiser specializing in building materials to be based in Dubai, UAE, with routine travel across the country. The focus of this role is to enhance in-store product visibility, foster strong relationships with small installers, generate leads for wholesale partners, and drive sales growth within the MEP and plumbing solutions sector.

Work Schedule and Compensation

The working days are Monday through Friday, with Fridays being a half-day, affording weekends off. The remuneration package includes a monthly cash salary ranging from AED 6000 to 8000 alongside a company vehicle with fuel and parking provisions, medical insurance coverage for the employee, an annual return flight to the home country, and a discretionary performance-based bonus.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize product positioning and visibility inside retail outlets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with small-scale installers to facilitate collaboration and lead generation.
• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to increase sales volume and market presence.
• Gather competitive intelligence and relay insights to support strategic adaptation and growth.
• Support wholesale, retail, and trade partners by sharing qualified leads with the broader sales team.

Experience and Skills Required

• Two to four years of merchandising experience, preferably in construction materials, plumbing, or sanitaryware sectors.
• Good understanding of building services such as MEP, plumbing, and heating systems is highly favorable.
• In-depth knowledge of the UAE retail, trade, and distribution environment.
• Strong organizational abilities with excellent time management skills to manage multiple daily store visits efficiently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and customer relationship management reporting tools.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license is mandatory.

Language Requirements

Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential along with a good command of various Indian dialects commonly spoken locally.
