About the Role
Join a chemical manufacturing company as a Team Lead responsible for guiding and mentoring scientists while actively participating in laboratory operations. The role focuses on advancing process development from lab scale through pilot plant stages specifically for agrochemical active ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of scientists in project execution while maintaining hands-on involvement in lab work.
- Develop, optimize, validate, and scale manufacturing processes for agrochemical active ingredients.
- Manage technology transfers and create cost-effective, commercially viable, and non-infringing manufacturing methods.
- Understand and analyze reaction mechanisms, impurities, impurity profiling, and use purification techniques such as distillation, crystallization, and chromatography.
- Conduct analytical data interpretation using NMR, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, and GC instruments, supported by literature research using SciFinder and Reaxys.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, perform cost analyses, evaluate synthetic routes, and compile development reports.
- Collaborate extensively with manufacturing, analytical, procurement, EHS, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project completion.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities within scientific teams.
- Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry applied to agrochemical active ingredients.
- Expertise in process development, technology transfer, and scale-up operations.
- Proficiency in analytical methods and interpretive techniques involving NMR, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, and GC.
- Experience with impurity analysis, purification procedures, and cost-effective process design.
- Familiarity with cross-disciplinary collaboration including procurement and EHS considerations.
Additional Information
- Interviews will be conducted virtually followed by face-to-face meetings.
- This is a permanent role on direct company payroll offering provident fund (PF) benefits.
- Fluency in English, Kannada, and Hindi is mandatory.
