Job Summary

The Senior Manager HR will be accountable for full strategic and operational management of HR activities at headquarters and multiple manufacturing plants across India. This role demands leadership in HR standardization, IPO readiness compliance, corporate governance, talent scaling initiatives, and integration across multiple sites, involving up to 60% travel throughout the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement company-wide HR policies, standing orders, and operational SOPs to standardize HR functions across business segments.
  • Develop strong governance frameworks, audit processes, and regulatory reporting necessary for SME IPO compliance.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to architect long-term organizational structures, succession plans, and growth strategies.
  • Perform site audits and ensure full statutory compliance under labor laws including Factories Act, PF, ESIC, Minimum Wages etc., at all plant and project locations nationally.
  • Guarantee 100% compliance audit readiness and maintain impeccable records at every regional unit.
  • Supervise contractor and vendor management ensuring third-party workforce regulatory adherence across multiple states.
  • Handle employee grievance resolution and maintain industrial relations to promote smooth operations across dispersed sites.
  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition for leadership, engineering, technical sales, plant operations, and R&D roles.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis and implement developmental programs for engineering, manufacturing, and safety competencies.
  • Develop strategies for employee engagement and retention focused on critical technical and managerial staff.
  • Establish and manage performance management frameworks aligned with company objectives; regularly deliver HR analytics covering headcount, attrition, hiring cost, training ROI, and site productivity.

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience (10-15+ years) in managing HR functions across multiple factories, engineering units, or diverse businesses.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% for site visits, compliance audits, and coordination with regional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, statutory compliance, and organized HR systems essential for companies targeting IPO.
  • Demonstrated leadership balancing executive goals with operational realities at ground level.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution skills.

Selection Process

  • First round: Screening and leadership fitment focusing on multi-site HR experience.
  • Second round: Detailed evaluation of technical knowledge, labor law compliance, and multi-business HR policies.
  • Final round: Strategic dialogue with executive directors including the managing director.
