Job description
Role Overview
Join Tiaki Wai as a Senior Engineer specializing in asset planning for treatment facilities, playing a crucial leadership role in shaping long-term investment and operational priorities for regional water treatment infrastructure. This position involves strategic management of treatment assets with an emphasis on resilience, regulatory compliance, and community expectations, based from our Petone location near transit and local amenities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems-level strategic planning and investment decisions for water treatment assets.
- Develop and update Facility Management Plans incorporating growth, climate impact resilience, and regulatory standards.
- Utilize condition assessments, performance analytics, and modelling to inform lifecycle management and capital projects including renewals, process enhancements, and technology adoption.
- Collaborate with operational staff, technical experts, and regulatory bodies to identify investigation priorities and ensure compliance across systems.
- Contribute senior technical guidance to optimize treatment infrastructure performance and future adaptability.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum eight years’ experience in water infrastructure planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive expertise in treatment processes, asset lifecycle strategies, and hydraulic/process modelling techniques.
- Proven capability in interpreting condition assessments, analyzing performance data, and prioritizing investment decisions.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and technical engineering collaboration.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) certification or actively progressing towards it.
Employment Terms and Benefits
This is a full-time role with a 40-hour work week based onsite. Compensation ranges from NZD 108,644 to NZD 153,379 including KiwiSaver benefits, depending on qualifications and experience.
